Why Exercise? Is it just a fad or are there actual health benefits? Should everyone Exercise? What motivates people to exercise?
These are many legit questions that are worth asking at the thought of embarking on any exercise trail. Diligence is required to reap the rewards of exercising so you should not just started without equipping yourself with the right info at the risk of either under- or over-exerting yourself!
So yes, if you are a pro-healthy living, life loving cheerful person, consider this as a countdown (in no particular order though) to some fabulous reasons why everyone should actually exercise. And to be fair, I have excluded the obvious most common motivating reason: to have a desirable physique!

1.????? Achieving your Weight loss goals
Although the popular notion that the primary aim of exercise is for weight loss and/or body building, exercising has much more to offer. Weight loss as a key health benefit of exercise needs to be rightly categorized: as a long-term goal.
Obviously, the weight loss part is probably sold too heavily to people starting fitness programs and as human experience has shown, people have trouble sticking with something if they don?t see results quickly. So whatever weight loss goal you have when starting a fitness program, don?t make it your only goal but it could be a good place to start.

2.????? Ward-off your risk of Chronic Diseases and complications
Physical activity and exercising is indispensible in both the prevention and management of hypertension, coronary heart diseases (heart attacks) and diabetes all of which are directly linked to obesity. Simple lifestyle modifications like ?being on the move? and making conscious efforts to exercise are highly recommended by health practitioners for the control of many chronic diseases. Other examples of lifestyle modifications are dieting/healthy eating, quitting smoking and reducing alcohol intake.
3.????? Exercise notably helps in Cancer prevention
With respect to cancer prevention, exercising earns a high recommendation indirectly from its fat burning ability. But in addition, exercise directly supports the excretion of toxic waste from the body, especially the cell damaging and cancer causing ?free radicals?. The role of exercising as a cancer preventive measure has been particularly documented for cases of breast cancer (where it is linked to decreasing hormonal levels in premenopausal women).
4.????? Getting the most of your meals
Did you know that physical activity improves digestion and the absorption of nutrients from food? While severe stress interferes with food digestion, Exercise actually increases utilization of nutrition.
Exercise sends nutrients and oxygen to the muscles and other tissues in your body and makes your heart and lungs work more efficiently thereby helping with blood circulation.
5.????? Brain Power
It will interest you to know that exercise doesn?t only give power to your muscle but to your brain also. Physical exercise has been discovered to improve the ?brain power? by helping mental function. Exercising increases energy levels as well as promotes the secretion of serotonin in the brain which leads to improved mental clarity/boost that makes for results in a more productive day. It also aids memory and so decreases the gravity of dementia and Alzheimer?s disease in old age.

6.????? Enjoy Fitness to the very core
Exercise helps to tone the muscles, strengthen the bones and firm up cartilages. This reduces the odds of having some of those aches or body pains often experienced in late adulthood grossly due to physical inactivity. It is certainly beneficial in easing the pains of arthritis in old age. In a nutshell, regular exercising is a free ticket to a lifestyle of staying healthy.

I wasn't sure we would ever see the Desire brand again from HTC but it is back, this time in the form of the Desire X. Over at IFA in Berlin HTC have announced the new handset which is due for release from September. Specs wise it isn't a match for the HTC One X and I think that the Desire X is more your average consumer handset. That said, it still has a lot going for it. Sporting a 4 inch Super LCD WVGA screen it will be the perfect size for many people. Combined with the familiar Sense UI and Android 4.0 the Desire X should be a crowd pleaser.
Once again HTC have focused on a couple of main features. The 5MP camera hits the spotlight with HTC's ImageChip, a f/2.0, 28mm wide-angle lens, BSI sensor, HDR mode and automatic adjustable flash. Like on the One Series devices, capturing pictures and video can be done simultaneously. Music is the other key feature with the Desire X. Beats Audio is once again on board to ensure crisp, rich music playback.

Dear CIGAs,
There was some good news released yesterday by the Standard & Poor?s/Case-Shiller home price index.? Residential housing prices rose .5% year-over-year for the first time since June of 2010.? In a press release, David M. Blitzer, Chairman of the Index Committee, said, ?All 20 of the cities saw average home prices rise in June over May and all were by at least 1.0%. . . . We are aware that we are in the middle of a seasonal buying period, but the combined positive news coming from both monthly and annual rates of change in home prices bode well for the housing market.?? (Click here for the complete Case-Shiller press report and release.)
Does a .5% increase (year-over-year) really ?bode well for the housing market??? It has been widely reported the Federal Reserve has spent trillions of dollars suppressing interest rates.? There?s been quantitative easing (money printing), ?Operation Twist? and near 0% interest on a key Fed lending rate.? A 30-year mortgage is hovering at or near historic lows?around 3.5%.? This is all we got after all that?? According to the latest Case-Shiller report, ?As of June 2012, average home prices across the United States for the 10-City and 20-City Composites are back to their summer 2003 levels.?? Home prices are back to where they were 10 years ago and this is good news?
The 0% Fed interest rate policy and suppression game may be great for home buyers, but it is a total rip-off for savers.? People trying to get a return on their hard earned money are being robbed of hundreds of billions of dollars a year because of artificially suppressed interest rates.? CD?s are paying a fraction of a percent for locking up money for years!
Bloomberg was also jumping on the ?good news? housing band wagon yesterday.? ?Finally, the housing market is forming a bottom,? Mohamed El-Erian, chief executive officer and co-chief investment officer of Pacific Investment Management Co., said on Bloomberg Television?s ?In the Loop? with Betty Liu. ?That should be welcome. It is not surprising because affordability is so attractive right now.?? (Click here for the complete Bloomberg story.)? I guess Mr. El-Erian is right when he says, ?the housing market is forming a bottom.? But I think you have to add one caveat to the equation, and that is the housing market is forming a bottom as long as mortgage interest rates are artificially suppressed!

In a few short weeks, the iPhone 5 should be upon us. One of the interesting metrics that has been talked about of the iPhone is how all new models effectively outsell the cumulative total of prior models. For example, the iPhone 4 sold more than the total of all original iPhone, 3G, and 3G models.
So far the iPhone 4S has not yet reached this goal, but it will by the time next quarter?s results are reported. By my estimate, after 3 quarters of sales, Apple has sold about 83 million of the iPhone 4S compared to 88 million of the iPhone 4.
Here?s a chart showing how many of each iPhone model Apple has sold to date. The totals add up to Apple?s reported numbers, but the splits are based on an educated guess. My assumption is that when a new model is released, the vast majority of shipments are for the new model. Not really rocket science.
So the obvious question is, ?Will the iPhone 5 ship more than all cumulative shipments of older models?? But the obvious question isn't always the right one.
First of all, it?s a moving target since older models continue to sell. Second, each new model of the iPhone is facing a larger cumulative base of sales that it has to compete with to establish this record. Third, we need to remember that it?s easy to beat prior shipment records when a product is newer, and very difficult once a product matures.
As an investor in Apple, I don?t really place a lot of importance on how many new models ship versus old models. I just want to see rising sales and steady profit margins. I care about total iPhone sales growing each year. I realize that it?s impossible for Apple to continuously release a new model that outsells all prior shipments of older models. Expecting this is akin to expecting a sprinter to continue to accelerate while racing up a slope that keeps getting steeper.
So let?s take a look at iPhone shipments by quarter. Here?s a chart that goes back to the initial introduction of the iPhone. I?ve thrown in iPad shipments as a second series on the chart just for the sake of interest and comparison.
You can see the huge spike in iPhone volume when the 4S was released. Part of this can be explained by the growing market of people who want an iPhone. But another contributing factor was the long (5 quarter) period of time that the iPhone 4 carried the torch. Anticipation for the next model was hot, and as a result, we saw a massive step change in volume when the 4S was finally released.
When the iPhone 5 comes out, we?ll have only seen 3 quarters where the prior model (the 4S) was the top of the line Apple phone. It seems natural that this would result in a less dramatic uptick in sales in the December quarter, right? Maybe. But when we consider that the demand for iPhones is still growing rapidly and globally, maybe not.
Let?s look at analyst estimates. I don?t have any Wall Street analyst models showing a forecast breakdown of iPhones specifically, so I?ll just consider revenue estimates. These are easily seen at Yahoo Finance.
For the December quarter, analysts expect Apple to generate $54.9 billion in revenue. This compares to the prior record (last year?s iPhone 4S holiday quarter) of $46.3 billion. That?s expected year-over-year growth of only 18%.
I wouldn?t be surprised in the least if Apple shatters the December quarter estimate. Their products are still the best in the world, China is on fire, and it looks like iPad volumes are growing like crazy, which just makes the 18% growth expectation seem like less of a hurdle.
It sure looks like Apple customers and investors are in for a hugely interesting fall of 2012. iPhone 5 in September, iPad mini in October, and hopefully an update from Apple on the number of devices sold at launch, and then quarterly results.

As much as people would want to improve their homes, there is one obstacle that stands their way, cost. In order to manage home improvement activities such as driveway designing, gardening, roof restoration and interior design Fredericksburg residents are required to dig into their pockets and use some creativity. The following tips on will help you work on a small budget.
The field has three main disciplines. The disciplines are contemporary, casual and formal interior designing. They all vary in basic aspects such as symmetry with regard to furniture arrangement, decor, complexity and the space used. The formal style?s emphasis is on symmetry. The furniture in the rooms is arranged in a specific order. Moreover, chandeliers, paintings and polished wood are used to display wealth and act at the same time as the focal point of most rooms.
Contemporary style is less complex. It?s mainly characterized by black or white painted walls. Furniture pieces are arranged far apart to create dimension. It requires a lot of space. On the other hand casual interior design is characterized by lack of symmetry in the arrangement of the pieces of furniture.
It is always a challenge to decide on one of the three styles available. After this hurdle, you may then proceed to decorate your house. The first thing to be considered is the option of whether you would require professional help or not. The market is full of many designing companies all claiming to offer the best services. Only a few do. Surfing the web is one sure way of attesting the credibility of any company. Alternatively, family and friends may recommend a good one.
Secondly, consider your taste. Choose the best color scheme and theme. It is good to think about any ideas suggested to your by family members and friends or the professional you are working with. You might also consider accessorizing elements to compliment and make you home?s decor unique. The colors you choose set the mood for that room. Make sure to use complementary colors to avoid clashing. Do not try to impress, go for what you love.
Plan on two major aspects, space and the design. It is advised that you avoid buying anything till you have planned the outlook and what needs to be bought. This way you will be able to work under a budget and consequently your money will be well spent. The furniture must be able to fit properly in all the rooms.
Consider the lighting. In this case, you can decide to either go for natural or man made. If you opt to have a bright interior decor, it?s best to go for little lighting. Let the windows be small. Dull colors call for bright lighting. In the absence of light, there is no visible color.
Other factors such as quality and creativity help improve the value of your house should you consider reselling it. This is one of the benefits of interior design Fredericksburg homeowners get to enjoy. Following these tips will greatly help them.

Amongst a lot of struggles, and obstacles that a new on line enterprise face is obtaining adequate targeted site visitors! Now there are thousands of articles about how you can get much more site visitors to a net web site. You will find twice as several services that offer you on line companies with techniques to promote their web sites. Prior to you spend a dime on getting traffic, I would like to let you know about 3 approaches that you could get tons of free of charge targeted targeted traffic.
Among the best things about the Internet is ?content?. Regardless of what you wish to understand, or discover, you can learn it from the web. The way you get information on the web is via content material, words details. With out content you?ve got nothing but a blank page. Think it or not life is all about content material. The human mind constantly thirst for new content of some sort, it really is the reason why we gossip, the cause we watch Tv, listen to the radio, and the cause we surf on the web, read the newspaper, speak on the phone ect?
With that getting stated I?ll offer you the secrets of getting large amounts of targeted traffic free of charge. So sit back take notes and, get prepared for some awesome tips.
The Excellent PDF File.
I?m a huge fan of PDF files. You understand these tiny brief e-books that have excellent content material, that teaches you how you can do items E-books are great for bringing in tons of free targeted visitors. The quite people who download a PDF file, do so because of the content. They turn out to be the ultimate targeted audience.
For example, if I write a short E-book on the best way to brew beer at home. In my book I write about the fundamentals, the ABC?s to brewing, I also consist of tasty, and simple to brew recipes inside the PDF file. The individual who downloads a copy of my book is within the industry to purchase goods relating to beer brewing.
Now since I am a business owner I insert hyperlinks to my net internet site in my beer brewing E-book. On the internet internet site I sell beer brewing supplies, and ingredients. My aim will be to give out valued info, that is certainly downloaded to a prospect?s pc, exactly where the individual makes use of the book as a reference, they adore the content material, they want supplies, and now possess a link to my internet site. This offers my web website an enormous quantity of targeted targeted traffic automatically.
The PDF file can be a fantastic asset for any internet internet site, and any on-line organization. The other excellent issue about PDF is you never know where it will wind up. Folks could post it in their blogs, on their internet web site, they might e-mail it to pals who knows exactly where it?ll posted, but any way you look at it, it really is excellent news for the net company owner.
It is not all that challenging to write a PDF file/ E-book. You can download the latest version of Adobe. Making use of Adobe, you are able to compose a PDF file. The PDF file might be as brief as 1 page, or it could be hundreds of pages. Just don?t forget to offer informative data that your reader will worth, consist of a title page. Clearly you wish to include links back for your site. Do oneself a favor, and give consent for your readers to redistribute your E-book, ask that the E- book be in tact and unedited. From there you?ll be able to upload it for your server, and start promoting your PDF file. You?ll be able to even design a fancy cover must you select to, but it is just not required.
The simplest way that I have found to promote a new PDF file is always to join forums that complement the E-book. Add a SIG file to become seen at the end of all of your post, in that SIG file location a direct link for your E-book consist of a description with the book. I like to write in ?to download this report correct click on the link, and choose save as.? Now the individual who reads the E-book has the PDF saved on their laptop or computer.
Inside the forum all you might have to perform is respond to a post, or 2, and even commence up a brand new post having a few comments, try and offer wonderful insight, and men and women will download you PDF file assured.( Note: tend not to spam the forum, or your post will most likely be deleted by the moderator. A forum shouldn?t be utilized as a method as advertising.) Don?t forget, people are constantly hunting for new content, curiosity killed the cat. In the event you write it, and it looks very good, it?s going to be downloaded, and read.
Yet another simple strategy to promote an E-book is via e-mail. Send out a funny message, or data that is certainly associated for your E-book. In addition to the e mail attach a link to your PDF file within your E-mail SIG file. Use a snappy title a thing that promotes interest towards men and women downloading your PDF file. (make sure that the link works okay, then send out your e-mail for your buddies. Ask them to assist you out by sending out the e-mail to every person they know. Send out an excellent entertaining, or informative e-mail, and that thing could go around the globe several instances exposing your PDF file free of charge, to countless numbers of folks. I guarantee that an individual will download it. The worse case scenario, if nobody downloads your PDF file, It really is not a large deal it didn?t cost you anything to send out those e-mails!
An additional strategy to promote your PDF file, is write a brief report about a subject that compliments your E-book. A lot of directories incorporate a resource box. I recommend adding a link to your PDF file in that box. Hundreds of people read articles. Remember if these folks read your report for the content material, chances are they are going to want, to read your E- book for even more guidance, and information.
You have just read about a couple of excellent approaches of obtaining tons of free targeted site visitors. The visitors is yours should you are prepared to work for it. The wonderful thing in regards to the Internet is when your work gets published, you will never need to do the function yet again, and also the site visitors will preserve on flowing for your web site over, and over yet again! Should you write it they are going to read it, that?s just the wonder of the World wide web!

The documentary 2016: Obama?s America, Dinesh D?Souza?s film about the president?s intellectual roots, earned more than $6 million over the weekend, good for eighth at the box office. The movie, which will be shown four times a day this week at a site near the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., has been boosted by heavy promotion on conservative talk radio. Last month, David Weigel deconstructed the film, examining D?Souza?s charges that Obama holds ?anti-colonialist? views. His original piece is printed below.
Twenty minutes into a new conservative documentary about Barack Obama, there?s a moment that?ll break a birther?s heart. Dinesh D?Souza, the star and narrator of 2016: Obama?s America, is telling the brief, encyclopedia-entry version of the president?s life. The camera zooms over a map like one of the travel scenes in Raiders of the Lost Ark?Kenya, Indonesia, Hawaii.
?On August 4, 1961,? says D?Souza, ?Barack Obama II is born in the Kapiolani Medical Center in Honolulu. His birth is recorded in two local newspapers.?
When I hear that line, my head instinctively swivels to my right, where WorldNetDaily Editor-in-Chief Joseph Farah is sitting. His website has run hundreds of stories about Barack Obama?s citizenship and birth documents. WND books published Where?s the Birth Certificate?, which unfortunately was published right after the president released the long-form version of the record. You can still buy ?Where?s the REAL Birth Certificate?? merch at the WND store. And now here?s a movie with a $2.5 million budget that?s made more than $80,000 in a four-theater run that tosses all the birther theories aside.
Farah abides. He doesn?t walk out. The movie is really too good to get pedantic about. There are no conspiracy theories about Obama?s birth, religion, Social Security number, passport, or college transcript. Instead, there is a deep dive into Barack Obama?s known Communist associates, his late father?s avowed socialism, and his mother?s radicalism. The first and last stories are backed up with quotes from Dreams From My Father. ?That?s Dinesh,? says co-producer Doug Sain. ?He walks on solid ground.?
Let?s go with ?mostly solid.? D?Souza?s documentary is based largely on his book The Roots of Obama?s Rage, which itself grew out of D?Souza?s Forbes cover story, one of the most influential of the decade. Obama, according to D?Souza, was an anti-colonialist. ?He adopted his father's position that capitalism and free markets are code words for economic plunder,? wrote D?Souza. ?Obama grew to perceive the rich as an oppressive class, a kind of neocolonial power within America.? Newt Gingrich recommended the theory to reporters?technically speaking, to Robert Costa and me. David Koch repeated it to a sympathetic Matthew Continetti.
The theory was Swiss-cheesed with logic holes. D?Souza found great significance in how Obama ?demonizes his predecessor and his opponent,? as if only anti-colonialists did this. D?Souza insisted that Obama using the Gulf oil spill crisis to call BP ?British Petroleum? is Anglophobia, revealed! But Obama didn?t call BP ?British Petroleum.?
None of this makes it into 2016. We?re taught the controversy, with a montage of D?Souza defending his thesis in front of hostile interviewers. (There?s a sort of George Romero irony to these scenes, as D?Souza is filleted on shows like Countdown and Parker/Spitzer. They?re gone. He?s still here.) We?re shown just how deeply D?Souza researched this?shot of him thumbing through Dreams before boarding an Indonesian scooter, learning to hula in Hawaii, delivering three goats to buy an interview with Obama?s paternal grandmother Sarah. She turns him down. There is no Michael Moore-style waiting in the weeds to ambush a source.
But there?s plenty of the Moore style. D?Souza is sold to us as a smart, patriotic innocent abroad, who just wants to piece a mystery together. Almost every clue fits the puzzle. An old associate of Obama Sr. says the son and the father are basically the same. (Dad dreamed of 100 percent taxation; Junior dreams of a top marginal rate of 39.6 percent.) D?Souza asks one of Ann Dunham?s professors if Obama?s mother had taught the son to idolize his father. ?I hadn?t thought of that!? she says. ?I think you?re right.? D?Souza walks the grounds of Obama?s high school, where they teach ?oppression studies, if you will.?
You don?t travel that far without scoring some points. D?Souza gives considerable screen time to Paul Kengor, a (recent) scholar of Obama?s teenage mentor Frank Marshall Davis. Kengor?s bang-on right: Davis was an avowed Communist, and the media of 2008 didn?t care.
Still, the Davis story is complicated. Becoming a Soviet dupe, as Davis did, meant something for midcentury African-Americans that it doesn?t mean today. Obama never pretended not to know Davis, or pretended that he was some Rockefeller Republican, or turned him into a composite character. He appears in Dreams as ?Frank,? a ?dashiki-wearing? friend talking ?black power.? This is a movie, sure, and you can?t lard it up with every little detail, but D?Souza?s question-begging and omissions lead him to oversell what he?s got.
Early on in the drama, D?Souza proffers this list of Obama?s ?really unusual decisions, decisions you would never see a typical Democrat make.? He?s edited out some of the clunkers from his book. This is the top-shelf vino.

KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) ? Tropical Storm Isaac barely stirred Florida Keys residents from their fabled nonchalance Sunday, while the Gulf Coast braced for the possibility that the sprawling storm will strengthen into a dangerous hurricane by the time it makes landfall there.
It was on course to strike land on the seventh anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, a powerful storm that crippled New Orleans and the Gulf Coast and became a symbol of government ineptitude. Forecasters expected Isaac to pass the Keys late Sunday before turning northwest and striking as a Category 2 hurricane somewhere between New Orleans and the Florida Panhandle on Wednesday.
The National Hurricane Center issued a hurricane warning for a large swath of the northern Gulf Coast from east of Morgan City, La. ? which includes the New Orleans area ? to Destin, Fla. A Category 2 hurricane has sustained winds of between 96 and 110 mph (154 to 177 kph).
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal called a state of emergency and officials in St. Charles Parish near New Orleans told its 53,000 residents to leave ahead of the storm. Jindal also said he may skip a speaking engagement later this week at the Republican National Convention in Tampa unless the threat to his state subsides. Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley has canceled his trip to the convention because of Isaac, and Florida Gov. Rick Scott also gave up his speaking engagement.
Elected leaders' vigilance toward tropical storms has heightened in the seven years since Katrina struck. Criticism was leveled at officials reaching all the way to the White House over what was seen as the federal government's slow and bungled response to the storm that killed 1,800.
An emergency declaration was also issued in Mississippi by Gov. Phil Bryant amid concerns of storm surge threatening low-lying areas. Oil companies began evacuating workers from offshore oil rigs and cutting production in advance of Isaac.
The storm was on a course to pass west of Tampa, but it had already disrupted the Republicans' schedule there because of the likelihood of heavy rain and strong winds that extended more than 200 miles from its center.
Even before reaching hurricane strength, Isaac caused considerable inconvenience, with more than 550 flights canceled at Miami International Airport and about 150 from Fort Lauderdale's airport. There were scattered power outages from Key West to Fort Lauderdale affecting more than 16,000 customers, and flooding occurred in low-lying areas.
Gov. Rick Scott said at a news conference Sunday evening that only minor damage was reported from Isaac.
Wind gusts of 60 mph were reported as far north as Pompano Beach, north of Fort Lauderdale. But while officials urged residents in southeast Florida to stay home, that recommendation was ignored by surfers and joggers on Miami Beach and shoppers at area malls.
In Key West, Emalyn Mercer rode her bike while decked out with a snorkel and mask, inflatable arm bands and a paddle, just for a laugh. She rode with Kelly Friend, who wore a wet suit, dive cap and lobster gloves.
"We're just going for a drink," Mercer said.
"With the ones that are brave enough like us," Friend added.
Along famed Duval Street, many stores, bars and restaurants closed, the cigar rollers and palm readers packed up, and just a handful of drinking holes remained open.
But people posed for pictures at the Southernmost Point, while at a marina Dave Harris and Robyn Roth took her dachshund for a walk and checked out boats rocking along the waterfront.
"Just a summer day in Key West," Harris said.
That kind of ho-hum attitude extended farther up the coast. Edwin Reeder swung by a gas station in Miami Shores ? not for fuel, but drinks and snacks.
"This isn't a storm," he said. "It's a rain storm."
With a laugh, Reeder said he has not stocked up aside from buying dog and cat food.
The forecast wasn't funny, however. Isaac was expected to draw significant strength from the warm, open waters of the Gulf of Mexico, but there remained much uncertainty about its path.
The Gulf Coast hasn't been hit by a hurricane since 2008, when Dolly, Ike and Gustav all struck the region. Florida, meanwhile, has been hurricane-free since it was struck four times each in 2004 and 2005.
Hurricane center forecasters are uncertain of the storm's path because two of their best computer models now track the storm on opposite sides of a broad cone. One model has Isaac going well west and the other well east. For the moment, the predicted track goes up the middle.
Florida Panhandle residents stocked up on water and gasoline, and at least one Pensacola store ran out of flashlight models and C and D batteries. Scott Reynolds, who lives near the water in Gulf Breeze, filled his car trunk with several cases of water, dozens of power bars and ramen noodles.
"Cigarettes ? I'm stocking up on those too," he said.
Forecasters stressed that the storm's exact location remained extremely uncertain ? a fact not lost on Tony Varnado as he cut sheets of plywood to board up his family's beach home on Pensacola Beach. With the storm's projected path creeping farther to the west, the Mandeville, La., resident joked he might be boarding up the wrong house.
"I'm going to head back that way as soon as we are done here to make sure we are prepared if hits there," he said.
Before reaching Florida, Isaac was blamed for eight deaths in Haiti and two more in the Dominican Republic, and downed trees and power lines in Cuba. It bore down on the Keys two days after the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Andrew, which caused more than $25 billion in damage just north of the island chain.
In Tampa, convention officials said they would convene briefly on Monday, then recess until Tuesday afternoon, when the storm was expected to have passed. Scott canceled his plans to attend convention events on Sunday and Monday.
At Miami International Airport, more than 550 flights Sunday were canceled. Inside the American Airlines terminal, people craned for a look out of one of the doors as a particularly strong band of Isaac began lashing the airport with strong rain and high wind.
Michele Remillard said she was trying to get a seat on a flight to New Orleans, well aware the city could be affected by Isaac later this week. In coastal Plaquemines Parish, La., crews rushed to protect the levees that keep floodwaters from reaching that New Orleans suburb.
"It's a little scary," said Remillard, who was in town for a wedding. "But I need to get home, you know? And if the storm comes my way again, who knows, I might have to come back here."
As of 11 p.m. EDT, the storm was centered about 510 miles (820 kilometers) southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami. Isaac had top sustained winds of 65 mph (100 kph) and was moving to the northwest at 15 mph (24 kph).
Tropical storm-force winds extended outward up to 205 miles (335 km) from the center, meaning storm conditions are possible even in places not in Isaac's direct path.

People have different reasons for being upset with Twitter right now, and those reasons really depend?on what type of Twitter user you are. Here are the people Twitter's changes are going to affect the most, and why?they're angry about the new rules.
The crux of why people are upset with Twitter is pretty simple: Twitter is?changing its Application Programming Interface (API)and closing off how third-party apps communicate with Twitter. For casual Twitter users, this means that Twitter controls what information apps can access on Twitter, how they access it, and how the apps shoots out the data on their ends. On the surface, the main goal is to keep Twitter clients consistent, and push ads equally throughout all of Twitter.
The Twitter developers who are worried about what the changes mean for their Business
Developers who build Twitter clients like?MetroTwit?or?TweetBot?are the most clearly affected by Twitter's new rules. In Twitter's new?API Terms, Twitter states that Twitter clients need to keep in line with Twitter's layout rules, which require tweets to be displayed in a single way, with all their buttons in the right places. From a visual point of view, all Twitter apps should essentially look the same. However, in a?blog post?back in June, Twitter also stated that developers should not, "build client apps that mimic or reproduce the mainstream Twitter consumer client experience." Essentially, this means Twitter doesn't want people building new Twitter clients.
Twitter has also instituted a user cap of 100,000 people for any app that uses the Twitter API, but they are giving a special allowance to any apps that already has over 100,000 users. When a new app gets more users that 100,000, it needs special permission from Twitter to continue on. This includes not just the Twitter clients that show your Twitter stream, but also apps that tap into the Twitter ecosystem like the aggregation tool?Storify?or the "what you did a year ago" webapp?Timehop. Essentially, if your app taps into Twitter for any reason, you're going to see changes.
From a strictly Twitter client point of view, the changes seem like they'll cut Twitter clients completely. However, in a blog post, Tweetbot developer Tapbots explains they'll?continue work their clients?(iPhone, iPad, and Mac), and the majority of the app will be unchanged. Twitterific developer Icon Factory?says the same thing.
Not all developers are so confident, and?several have sent letters to the FTC?requesting an investigation into possible antitrust issues that arise by Twitter forcing other apps out of the game.
Until we see how Twitter enforces these rules it's difficult to know exactly what to expect.
The Twitter power users who like third-party utilitiesTwitter power users are going to see big changes in their Twitter clients, but many of the analytics tools they use will remain untouched. In fact, in Twitter's?blog post?on the issue, they specifically high-five the likes of?Crimson Hexagon,?Topsy,?Hootsuite, and others. In short, if you're using apps that are targeted at businesses, for data mining or otherwise, you're probably fine.
However, power users will likely see less customized clients built specifically for certain types of users. Lifehacker founder Gina Trapani sums it up on the?In Beta podcast:
I think the big thing people are upset about is that we're going to see fewer custom power user clients. Which really sucks for the power user who want the very specialized client who lets you mute keywords, or whatever.
The reason? With a new rules, developers might not put forth the effort to build specialized clients anymore. It could also mean that currently beloved clients will just give up. It's no fun playing in a playground with chains and locks on all the equipment. Since this hinges on how developers react, it's hard to judge exactly what the effect will be until Twitter starts enforcing these rules.
The loudest outrage from most people is how Twitter's been tackling the way third-party services access Twitter. In a tiny way, this is about how?Tumblr, Instagram, and LinkedIn?users can't search for friends on Twitter any more.
More worrisome about the new API rules is how it might restrict apps like the popular social news app?Flipboard, which accesses tweets, but isn't a client itself. The worry comes from Rule 5a of the?Timeline display guide:
Tweets that are grouped together into a timeline should not be rendered with non-Twitter contents. Eg comments, updates from other networks.
Instapaper developer Marco Arment?talks about why this might matter in a blog post:
In other words, apps cannot interleave chronological groups of Twitter posts with anything else.
This is very broad and will bite more services and apps than you may expect. It's probably the clause that caused the dispute with LinkedIn, and why Flipboard CEO Mike McCue just left Twitter's board.
Closer to home for me, it affects Instapaper's "Liked By Friends" browsing feature, which will need to be significantly rewritten if I want it to comply. (If.)
Essentially, services that tap into your Twitter feed and regurgitate links into a new visual style could be blocked. This means magazine-style browsing apps like Flipboard?could?be cut off.
The likely reasoning from Twitter's point of view is simple. When you access links from who you follow on Twitter without ever going to Twitter itself, you can get the Twitter experience without ever looking at advertisements.
The optimistic Web nerds who want Twitter to be a platform, not a media company
When Twitter first launched, it was a wide-open, easy-to-develop-for platform that felt something like the wild wild west of internet communication. Now, Twitter is closing in on itself, and changing its overall approach from open platform for communication to media company. The reason? Money. (They're a for-profit company, so while the results are frustrating, it's silly to blame them for this.)?The Verge lays it out like so:
Creating a platform like Twitter is impossibly hard, but after years of fail whales, the company pulled it off. Monetizing a platform is harder still, and it looks like Twitter has taken the easier path: monetizing its social graph without sharing the wealth with the developers who helped build it.
The reason the social graph (who you follow/who follows you) is important from an advertising point of view is pretty simple: people use Twitter like they use a TV, they follow who they're interested in and that reflects a marketing potential. This makes direct advertising easy.
Twitter's original API was wide open, and out of it sprung all types of innovative apps and uses?the very same things that turned Twitter into the successful company it is today. The openness was the exact reason many of us started using the service in the first place. Twitter was a platform you could access in a variety of ways, and use for a number of different reasons. You could track celebrities, communicate with people, and share links with complete strangers. Users wanted to think of it as a platform similar to email as opposed to a media company (like Facebook). It's easy to see that Twitter needs to make money, but many people hoped (perhaps naively) that Twitter would still function as a platform. Not as yet another Facebook.
So, should you care?Twitter's guidelines for some of these changes are still pretty vague, and interpretations of how Twitter will implement the changes are all over the place. Developers have six months to comply with the new API, and hopefully by then we'll have a better idea of how it's going to affect everyone.
So, should you care? That depends on how you use Twitter. The issues above effect different people in different ways, but even the casual user will see restrictions with the apps and clients they use.

Maturing online businesses in New Zealand and Australia are eyeing emerging markets for future growth.
Trade Me is looking to expand beyond its home base of New Zealand to find growth as its online auctions business matures.
"We'll always keep an eye out for international opportunities," chief executive Jon Macdonald said after last week's annual results announcement.
"In the long term there's going to be a time when we'll expand offshore in one way or another."
International ventures were likely to be in developing markets, such as Asia, rather than Australia, which had a sophisticated market with established players, he said.
In Australia, Wotif.com chief executive Robbie Cooke expects a high dollar will be "situation normal" for some time, forcing the online travel agent to prioritise new business ventures targeting overseas travellers.
Reporting a 14 per cent increase in full-year profit last week, Cooke said Wotif was also open to acquisitions within Australia or abroad to add to its purchases of the Lastminute and AsiaWebDirect websites. "We're absolutely looking to build our product range outside Australia and New Zealand," the CEO said. "Lastminute has been nicely integrated into the business. The right acquisitions make sense, whether onshore or offshore."
Wotif said it would spend the next 12 months developing a package holiday product to compete with bricks and mortar travel agents such as Flight Centre and Jetset, in response to the growing appetite of Australians to holiday overseas.
Net profit rose to A$58 million from A$51m in the prior year, boosted by strong growth in international flight bookings and the uptake of its mobile phone and tablet applications. That was marginally ahead of previous company guidance for earnings in the range of A$55.5m to A$57.5m. Revenue rose 5 per cent to A$145m, and a final dividend of A13.5? was announced.
Wotif said it sold $110m worth of flights over the year, with the two-year-old business unit contributing 9 per cent of the total value of all bookings sold. Bookings for domestic and international flights should continue to grow in the current financial year while reservations in the core Australian accommodation business will remain challenged, Cooke said.
"It's still a challenging market out there, particularly in the domestic space. We sell a lot of domestic accommodation, and the leisure side of that has been absolutely tougher with a stronger dollar while business travel hasn't been impacted," the CEO said.
Wotif has also launched a new service for booking holiday rental accommodation, a unit which Cooke said could grow to be as large as the flights division. The company has also doubled the number of staff dedicated to its Arnold booking platform targeted at the corporate market.
Another source of growth in the year ahead should be the company's mobile phone and tablet application, which combined accounted for 14 per cent of visits and 9 per cent of room night sales in 2012.
Trade Me's general items marketplace division showed signs of maturation in the 2012 financial year, with revenue rising 5 per cent to $62m. General items revenue contributed 44 per cent of total revenue, which grew 14 per cent year-on-year to $142m - about $4m below Bloomberg consensus forecasts.
Adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (ebitda) increased 8 per cent to $107m, in line with market expectations.
However, reported ebitda, which included a $3.3m one-off gain from the sale of its AutoBase investment on April, rose 11 per cent to $110m. Trade Me reported an inaugural 8 per cent increase in net profit after tax to $75.6m. The company, which is 51 per cent owned by Fairfax Media, was spun out from Fairfax as a separately listed company in December.
Macdonald said group buying site Treat Me came in below "a bullish forecast". "We view group buying as a young and uncertain industry, but one that still has potential," he said.
Deutsche Bank analyst Arie Dekker said "the underlying result was strong and the performance of the key growth driver, classifieds, very encouraging".
Macdonald warned that the short-term outlook for the sluggish New Zealand economy was "frustratingly more of the same".
Trade Me shares fell 3 per cent yesterday to close at $3.01.

Outlier.?This bladder cancer patient's metastatic tumors (red arrows) vanished when she took an experimental drug (CT images taken before drug and at 3 months, 6 months, and 15 months).
Credit:?G. Iyer et al., Science
Most experimental cancer drugs never make it to market because they don't help enough people in early clinical trials. But even in "failed" drug trials, researchers may find that a few patients see their tumors shrink dramatically. Since it?s not clear why some respond but most don?t, researchers typically shake their heads and move on. But researchers today report that by sequencing the entire genome of one outlier patient?s tumor, they learned why her cancer disappeared when she took an experimental drug that didn?t help others. That drug now has a new lease on life for this cancer, and such testing may help revive other cancer drugs that showed promise in lab studies but initially failed in clinical testing.
Researchers at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York City were puzzled by the case of a woman with metastatic bladder cancer whose tumors vanished after she was given a drug, called everolimus, which targets a protein involved in cell growth known as mTORC1. Most patients in the trial weren't helped by the drug and it was abandoned as a single agent for bladder cancer. But this one patient has been cancer-free for 2.5 years?a "pretty unprecedented result" for this cancer, which resists chemotherapy, says physician-scientist David Solit of MSKCC and Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City.
Solit's group tested the woman's tumor for mutations in a few genes in the mTORC1 pathway that might explain the tumor's sensitivity, but didn't find anything. So in collaboration with bioinformatician Barry Taylor's lab at the University of California, San Francisco, Solit's group sent a sample of the woman's tumor to a commercial lab for whole genome sequencing.
By comparing the tumor genome to the woman's normal DNA, the researchers found mutations in two genes,NF2?and?TSC1, which lab studies have suggested also lie in the mTORC1 pathway. Mutations in?TSC1, but notNF2, also turned up in several other bladder cancer samples. Although?TSC1?(tuberous sclerosis complex 1) hadn't been on the scientists? radar, it made sense that this gene might be involved: People born with a?TSC1mutation later develop benign tumors. The researchers then searched for?TSC1?mutations in 13 other patients in the same failed drug trial.?Four whose tumors shrank had mutations in?TSC1, but only one of nine who failed to respond had the change, the researchers report online today in?Science.

A travel insurance policy helps to safeguard you from financial losses due to unforeseen circumstances that impact your trip. There are some standard terms that are covered in the terms and conditions of your policy.
Travel insurance covers you if your trip is canceled or delayed. Of course, certain conditions must be met such as having a medical condition that prevents you from traveling, a natural disaster has occurred or the tour operator has gone out of business. They won?t cover you if you simply have other business or obligations or decide to delay the trip voluntarily. Look for the specifics and any exclusions in the policy.
Security delay insurance is coverage than can be purchased separately to cover you if your trip is delayed due to a terrorist threat or a security threat that causes an interruption of your trip. These conditions are not usually covered in the standard terms of a travel insurance policy.
If you have an accident or other medical emergency while traveling then your policy will pay for the treatment you receive and, if severe enough, transportation home. Some activities like extreme sports may be excluded. Check that the policy pays the medical providers directly or if you must apply for reimbursement after you have the paid the bills out of pocket. Any pre-existing medical conditions should be declared when you apply for the policy or they may also not be covered. Be sure to read the fine print.
If your personal possessions are lost or stolen you may be eligible for reimbursement under your travel insurance. Be sure that if you have expensive electronics, cameras or computers that they are covered in the policy that you purchase. Jewelry over a certain value, furs and other luxury items may be excluded or may exceed the dollar limit of the policy.
The personal liability part of your travel insurance policy provides funds if you should injure someone else or incur legal costs as a result of the injury. If you injure someone in a war situation or while committing a crime this policy provision will likely not cover these expenses.
Most travel insurance includes a number you can call 24 hours a day if you need emergency help. They can assist you with passport issues, refer you to a doctor or hospital for emergency treatment, help to contact your family and provide other resources that you might need in the event of an emergency.
These are the standard terms you should look for in any travel insurance policy. Be sure that you have the specific coverage you need by carefully examining the policy since the standard terms can differ from one insurer to another.

LONDON (Reuters) - The Sun tabloid on Friday published photographs of Prince Harry naked in Las Vegas, becoming the first British publication to defy a request from the royal family's lawyers.
On Thursday, newspapers in Britain did not publish the images of the Queen's grandson naked with an unnamed woman while on holiday in Las Vegas, following a request from St James's Palace, the official residence of the prince, through the Press Complaints Commission to respect his privacy.
But, almost half of the front page of Friday's Sun newspaper shows a photograph of the naked prince covering up his genitals with his hands while an apparently naked woman hides behind his back in a Las Vegas hotel room.
The Sun, part of the British arm of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, said millions of people around the world had already seen the pictures and its readers had a right to see them.
David Dinsmore, managing editor of the Sun, said in a video on the paper's website that the decision to publish was not taken lightly, but the issue had become one of "the freedom of the press."
"This is about the ludicrous situation where a picture can be seen by hundreds of millions of people around the world on the Internet but can't be seen in the nation's favourite paper read by eight million people every day," Dinsmore said.
"This is about our readers getting involved in the discussion with the man who is third in line to the throne - it's as simple as that," he said.
Two pictures of the naked prince, who has a reputation as a partying playboy, were first published on the celebrity gossip website TMZ on Wednesday.
Their publication has since caused an ethical dilemma for British editors reeling from a judge-led inquiry into press conduct.
St James's Palace had contacted the Press Complaints Commission on Wednesday over concerns about the prince's privacy being intruded upon, in breach of the editors' code of practice.
"We have made our views on Prince Harry's privacy known. Newspapers regulate themselves, so the publication of the photographs is ultimately a decision for editors to make," the BBC quoted a spokesman for the royal family as saying on Friday.
Thursday's edition of the Sun carried a mocked up photo using their features picture editor and an intern in place of Harry -- son of heir-to-the throne Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana -- and the unnamed woman.
